Home Service Area Cascade Locks
Porter runs the Gorge corridor on I-84 every week, and Cascade Locks sits right on that route. From driveways near the Bridge of the Gods to lots close to the sternwheeler landing, we know what this end of the Gorge does to asphalt.
Cascade Locks sits right where the Bridge of the Gods carries traffic across the Columbia, and where Pacific Crest Trail hikers step off the trail and into town. The sternwheeler still docks here. It’s a tight footprint: homes, cabins, RV pads, and a handful of small commercial lots packed between the river and the cliffs.
The climate on this end of the Gorge is nothing like the dry side out past Hood River. Cascade Locks catches the wet, marine air pushing up the river, so driveways and lots here deal with the same moss and standing-water wear as Gresham and Portland, funneled through a stiff canyon wind. Sealcoating on a 3–5 year cycle, after we scrub the surface clean, keeps that water out of the cracks before winter does its worst.
Most of what we do in Cascade Locks is residential: driveways for homes and cabins near the waterfront, RV pads, and the occasional gravel lane that’s ready to be paved. We also take on the small commercial lots in town.
